Sunday evening, Sept. 7

Hello from Guangzhou.
This is me and my good friend Christina. We are having a play date tonight.

Me and my dad are pretty close buddies.
Okay, this is how she sleeps. Completely folded over. She is the most flexible child I have ever seen.
I met this sweet lady in one of the shops at a museum here in Guangzhou. She was thrilled to be talking with Americans and her heart throb is Micheal Phelps. She was the sweetest thing, her name was Sue. She really touched my heart. This world really is small and filled with wonderful people.
Isn't that the sweetest smile.
My more serious look. I think her cheeks are all ready beginning to fill out more. We are in love:)
Today has been a little less stressful. We started our day out with a trip to the museum here in Guangzhou. Very humid! Emma did well riding in her stroller and checking out the scenery. I did a little shopping and looking at some of the exhibits. Then we went to a tea shop and learned about the proper way to make and drink tea. Tea is serious business here in China and it was interesting to see all of the different pots and teas.
We managed to have some down time this afternoon and take a nap and then have dinner. Our friends Barbara and Edgar and their adorable little munchkin Christina dropped in for a play date. The girls were so cute together. Christina is walking and very active. Emma just laughed and played. They were so cute together. We have really enjoyed getting to know them and they are going to be the greatest parents.
Tomorrow is a free day for us. Several of the other families have to be available for any paperwork because of their Consulate appointments. We are not scheduled for our apt. until Wednesday. I am planning on having a 2 hours foot and body massage here at the hotel. It's only $40 and my shoulder is killing me from lugging little miss around. I am looking forward to it if I can get it in. We are also supposed to go to the Shaiman Island (sp) which is the local shopping place for all the bargains. Lots of wheeling and dealing to get the best deals, so Bo should love it.
Emma continues to blossom. She is becoming more social and just laughs at the silliest things. She managed to eat some cereal and pears today, but of course we had to force it on her. She gets so mad, but immediately turns off the tears when you sit her down. She is very high spirited. She is just a little sweetie and we are in love. She just captures your heart with that big toothy grin.
We are counting the days until home. We can't wait to brush our teeth with tap water, have some ice tea, take a shower and open our mouths. All the little comforts of home. We can't wait.
Please continue to pray for us and we look so forward to seeing our family and friends. There is truly no place like home. We love you all. God Bless.

I can tell she is filling out; I actually went back and compared photos. She's looking happier and you are sounding more relaxed. I hope you get your massage and get some great bargains while shopping!

Those are some great pics. We miss you guys it has been kinda weird not seeing you guys at church the last couple of weeks. Mayme you can tell Aston that the prizes for vacation bible school were drawn for this morning but Bro. Brian said you had to be present to win and Aston's name was draw like 4 times. Sorry Aston. Praying the last few days in China will be great and everything with the visa will work out so you guys can be home friday.

I agree with everyone else in that Emma definitely looks happy and more filled out. What freedom she must feel to be out of that crib.

Missed you all at church today. Many are asking about you. Can't wait until you get home. Only a few days left.

Take care!
