Happy Halloween!

What have we been up to lately....well.....flower girl, pumpkin patch, soccer tournaments, getting a tooth pulled, pumpkin carving, a new haircut, prepping for Halloween, Halloween party at school, getting ready to start basketball season, celebrating our 25th Wedding anniversary....just busy times.

I love the look on Emma's face. She is so funny!

I don't particularly love the look on my exhausted face but I thought the bunny ears were priceless.

Yep, mom pulled a tooth on Saturday. Now we have one more to go and Miss Emma is hanging on to if for dear life. In all my years of mothering this is the first tooth that I have pulled. I won't discuss how some of the boys teeth came out.....

Way too cold for soccer! She reminds me of Rudy on Fat Albert with that hat on. Her team came in second in the championship.

Bundled up from head to toe! Poor kiddos were freezing to death. I know this because Bo told me. I was home in bed because I had worked all night. Call me the lucky one.

She did great in her latest role as Flower Girl Extraordinaire. I couldn't get a good picture of her in the church but she looked adorable.

Undecided on our Halloween costume. Rapunzel or a witch. Just not sure yet. I suspect I won't know until she comes home from school and just puts it on. It's her world.

We played against Rory's team on Sunday. We won but these girls could care less. We miss seeing our friends a lot.

Yes, this is the Purple Crush Avengers team. They are indestructible unless a flood of emotion hits one of them and then it's all over.

"Take My Picture"

I am been getting a lot of "take my picture" from Emma. This is funny considering how just a few short months ago she didn't want me anywhere near her with a camera. Yesterday afternoon we spent some time outside and she wanted me to take her picture while she posed. Crack me up. We are going to have to work on that a bit.

I made mashed potatoes for dinner last night and she LOVES to lick the beaters afterwards. Oh yeah, this girl can put away some potatoes. She also ate almost an entire can of asparagus for dinner. She kept telling me it was spinach and she was Popeye. Whatever works.

It Was Only A Matter of Time

Well I knew it would happen and it has actually taken longer than I thought. Yes, my sweet little girl got her first note home from the teacher about a behavior issue. It seems that she and some friends were chasing each other in the cafeteria and were not supposed to be doing this. When I confronted little Miss about it and asked her if this was true she quickly told me no and suddenly she was "sick". I explained to her that she was not sick and what she was feeling was guilt because she had gotten in trouble. Oh, if only you could have seen the look in her eyes and immediately she was fighting back tears. It was precious. There was also a constant string of "I love yous" after that. How sweet is this girl?

When Brady packed up to head back to school yesterday, I don't know who was the saddest...he was pretty sad about going back and she had her backpack ready and told me that she was going with brudder and she would be quiet. Precious!

An Afternoon Outdoors

We have all enjoyed having Brady home for a few days. None more than his baby sister who has practically not left his side. If he is downstairs drumming she is right beside him doing the same. If he is upstairs on his computer, well, you guessed it. She loves having her "brudder" being home for a few days.

Ashton has been bugging Bo to take him out in the woods and let him do some shooting. He thinks he wants to go hunting this fall and therefore needs some practice. Yesterday we all went for a walk in the woods and did some target shooting. Emma took her gun and joined in the fun.

I just don't know if I believe Ashton will ever be able to actually kill an animal. That remains to be seen.

I think Brady really enjoyed being out in the woods. School is pretty overwhelming for him right now and I think some fresh air and ammo did him some good.

Sweet April joined in the fun. She didn't want to do any shooting herself but she enjoyed the outdoors.

Oh this girl. She was too cute looking at her target and acting like she was really shooting.

Well, her brother got just a little too far ahead of her and she was not happy at all.

And so, he turned back and took care of the situation just as any big brother should do.

Following in every footstep. I don't think the boys realize just how much she loves them.

I think this may be the cutest look I have ever seen. I was just following her along and snapping pictures while she wasn't paying attention and then she turned around. I love that face.

Big long strides with a whole lot of attitude. This girl is not lacking in personality at all.

She found a nut of some sort in the woods and she was hiding it in her hands. She loves to play the game of which hand is it in. Needless to say, with only one finger on each hand it's a pretty easy game for me to win at.

A Quick Week in Review

We were able to attend Homecoming last weekend and see and hear our boy play. That is him holding the drums standing in the middle of the 2 tuba players. Not very good pictures but considering there are 350 people in the band I did the best I could.

Emma couldn't wait to get her picture taken with Lightening. I can remember a time not so long ago that she wouldn't go near a mascot.

Emma likes to come home in the afternoon and play school. She was so busy coloring one day this week and wanted me to take picture of every detail.

Look at the very serious face. She has some ATTITUDE let me tell you! And she isn't afraid to show it.

She is also loving dressing like a pirate. Her classroom theme is pirates and she is loving this outfit that belonged to Ashton and then was shared with Lawson (Dede's son) and now back to Emma. The green frog boots were just an added treat.

Notice her own design of "Captain Hook". A sweat band and plastic knife. The girl has some imagination.

So the weekend is upon us and I am ready. Brady is out of school for a few days and I am so excited that he is coming home. I think he is pretty excited too. I have all of his favorite foods lined up to cook and except for working tonight and a soccer game tomorrow we have made no other real plans. It will be nice to have everyone home at the "White House" as Emma calls it.

I told Emma this morning that Brady was coming home tonight and she said "To the White House" and I said "Yes". She quickly said "Brudder wash clothes". I think she has this whole college thing figured out.

Our Super Hero

Emma wants to wear her Batman mask all the time and apparently has decided that smoking a corncob pipe and having a butterfly net makes her outfit complete. Her favorite new show is Word Girl and when it comes on in the afternoon she immediately morphs into that character. It totally cracks me up.

I had the sweetest text from college boy yesterday. "I miss my mommy today. I am sick and I wish I were at home." Isn't that just heartbreaking. Apparently he had a little stomach bug going on and missed mom being there to take care of him. It just made my day....not that he was sick of course...that he missed his mommy.
